What is your “why”? Why do you do what you do and how does that impact your work?

I do what I do because throughout my young life, and as I’ve grown professionally, I never felt the standard ‘medical model’ of healthcare really aligned. I am very passionate about living a healthy lifestyle, eating well, and taking care of my body. I didn’t want to practice healthcare in a way that was reactive, I wanted to help people be more proactive. I enjoy educating patients about how their bodies work, and how to find ways not only to be well, but to be optimal. So many people think that feeling on a spectrum of unwell is ‘normal’. I really enjoy empowering people to fight back against the symptom management system of healthcare and be their own health advocate to feel the best they can.

If you could snap your fingers and be anywhere in the world right now, where would that be?

If I could snap my fingers and be anywhere in the world, I would be in England. I love the people, the culture, the ancient history/traditions, and the elegance of the countryside.

Favorite thing to do in your free time?

My free time consists of a lot of time in the gym. I am very passionate about bodybuilding and pushing myself physically. While it takes up a good amount of my free time, I enjoy it as not only a way to decompress, but to feel invigorated.

One piece of advice you give to ALL patients.

My best piece of advice I give all patients is that health is extremely multi-dimensional. Health takes work and does not just happen by visiting a doctor’s office. Health consists of good nutrition, always being active, doing things that bring you joy, practicing meditation, and taking care of your mental wellbeing.
