Emily Hochman, FNP

Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Meet Emily, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who brings warmth, curiosity, and a whole-person approach to the world of integrative medicine and complex chronic illness. She believes that truly caring for someone means listening deeply, thinking creatively, and never losing sight of the human being behind the diagnosis.

Emily’s journey to nursing was shaped by a love of language and culture. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages from Bowdoin College, a foundation that speaks to her natural empathy and her gift for connection before going on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing magna cum laude at Stony Brook University. She then gained invaluable bedside experience as a Registered Nurse at two world-renowned institutions, Long Island Jewish Medical Center Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), before earning her Master of Science in Nursing from Downstate Health Sciences University. She is ANCC-certified and holds an Integrative Health and Lifestyle Certificate from the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.

Emily’s compassion doesn’t clock out at the end of the day. As a former volunteer birth doula, she held space for families during some of life’s most profound moments. Her study of western herbalism reflects her deep respect for nature’s role in healing. Fluent in Spanish and Italian, she brings an extra layer of connection to patients from diverse backgrounds.

Outside of work, Emily is happiest outdoors, hiking through trails, or jogging alongside her beloved dog, Oscar.

Currently, Emily is training under Dr. Tania Dempsey and is not yet accepting new patients, but great things are on the horizon. She is the kind of caregiver worth waiting for.
